STRATEGIC LINES. INSTITUTIONAL ACTIVITY

Publications:

LA REVISTA: Technical-scientific Journal cuatrimestral issued. It is published since 1998 (ISSN 1578-6064)

CD-ROMS: Edition of multimedia content of our activities: workshops and publications.

BOLETÍN + LOC: monthly, printed and freely available to the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia staff. Compilation of current news, systems, services and technologies in communications and geo-positioning.

Training and Knowledge Transfer:

It is a task of the Spanish Institute of Navigation to promote and collaborate in all those activities that contribute to the training, education or teaching the people involved with the navigation sector.

Training:

INAVE encourages its members participation in the development and planning of courses, masters and the management or co-direction of the doctoral theses. INAVE shares its logistics infrastructure and professional documentary to the Members, including the generation of own training and teaching dedicated to the knowledge needs of our Members regarding systems and services based on positioning and navigation.

INAVE currently offers the training course “Learn to navigate with GPS and Galileo”, this course has been attended by more than 100 professionals, at the same time INAVE is actively involved in some master’s programs..

Meetings:

The Spanish Institute of Navigation as EUGIN member has the responsibility in organizing the European Navigation Conference Global Navigation Satellite System – ENC-GNSS. The aforementioned international event is organized jointly by AENA which is a member of INAVE. This event has a relevant challenge at social, economic, technological and professional levels. The Congress, held in Seville from 8 to 11 May 2001, was focused inter alia on the European radionavigation system Galileo and its future developments, bringing together around 600 professioals worldwide.

European Conference on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (ENC-GNSS):

For 12 years, the European Group of Institutes of Navigation (EUGIN) has organized the recongnised annual European Conference GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems). The latest edition of this conference was held in Naples last spring 2009 and hosted also other parallel events related to space technologies, with an attendance of 600 people.

For the 2010 event, INAVE participates as EUGIN member in some actions related with the organization of the ENC-GNSS in Braunschweig, Germany taking place from 19-21 October 2010, specifically as a collaborator in the Program Committee. For more information see the conference website at: www.enc-gnss2010.org

Geomatic Week:

The Institute actively participates as a partner in the editions of Geomatics Week. The Institute provides its members and executive bodies, personalities and contacts necessary for the preparation of various committees, organizational, technical, scientific or moderation meetings among others. One of the strategic lines of the Institute lies precisely in widening participation and purpose of that event, as geomatics and navigation. INAVE chaired the Scientific Committee on the 2003 edition, incorporating first Globalgeo Hall.

Workshops:

The Institute has an annual program of lectures and seminars ranging from international meetings to conferences on specific topics of special interest with quarterly periodicity.

The horizon of integration between technology and society in terms of positioning and satellite navigation has deeper and a promising future as never before, both at systems level and new tools and technologies crucial in the patterns and social behavior. Facing this reality INAVE consideres of vital importance to encourage and create forums and discussion about the implications in terms of security and control and how these systems closely installed in society will have a future which is now.
